Knox Title appoints industry veteran Ben Allison as CFO

Knox Title has tapped industry veteran Ben Allison to serve as its new chief financial officer. Allison, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, will lead the company’s financial strategy and ongoing nationwide expansion efforts.

While Knox Title is headquartered in Arkansas, the company and its subsidiaries already have a strong presence in Tennessee, Louisiana, Florida and Illinois. As the company continues to scale across these markets, Allison will oversee the financial health of the six regional brands, which span nine states and range from local abstract offices to large-scale title operations.

Allison joins Knox Title with more than 25 years of experience in mortgage, title and finance. He recently served as CFO for Deephaven Mortgage and previously spent years as CFO and controller for Incenter. While at Incenter, he managed the finances for a wide range of companies, including Boston National Title, and helped the organization grow its annual profits from $2 million to $82 million during his tenure.
“Ben knows this industry inside and out, and he has a knack for managing the kind of rapid growth we’re seeing right now,” said Brent Scheer, CEO of Knox Title. “As we continue to grow our footprint and upgrade our technology, Ben’s experience with complex acquisitions and financial modeling will be a massive asset.”

In his new role, Allison will focus on building accounting systems from the ground up and navigating the due diligence process for future mergers and acquisitions.
“The board is excited to have Ben join us,” said Alex Gregor of the Knox Title board of directors. “He has the right mix of high-level private equity and SEC compliance experience, as well as the practical hands-on knowledge of how a title office actually runs. For all these reasons and more, he’s the right person to help lead our financial future.”

“Knox Title has built a great foundation, and I’m ready to get to work with Brent and the rest of the leadership team,” Allison said. “It’s a busy time for the company, and I look forward to helping us deliver even more value to our clients and partners.”
